"Lakshya’s Young Achiever: Siddhant Banthia"
Leander Paes, Mahesh Bhupathi, Sania Mirza are few out of the many known around the world personalities in the field of Tennis. Besides winning numerous titles (singles and doubles), they have brought laurels to our country. Leander Paes, for example was awarded with ‘Padma Shri’ in 2001and ‘Padma Bhushan’ in 2014, for his excellent performance in sports. In 2016, Sania Mirza was listed in Time's list of the 100 most influential people. The list is neverending.
Such victories aren’t overnight. They are a consequence of years of immense practice, dedication, perseverance, hard work, mentorship and of course support! The presence of excellent mentors, equipments, facilities and medical aid throughout the training helps them grow as a person and sportsperson, gain confidence eventually resulting resulting in a good game!
Lakshya supports Siddhant Banthia, a very talented tennis player who bagged double crown in the AITA Ranking Super Series (U-16) Tennis Tournament at Shiv Chatrapati Sports Complex in Balewadi.
Achievements:
1. Won Boy’s U-16 Singles and Doubles Title in AITA Super series in Pune - Feb 2015
2. Won Singles and Doubles Title at the National Series Boys U-18 in January 2016.
3. Won Singles and Doubles Title at the National Series in June 2015
4. He was a runner up at Road to Wimbledon Junior Masters in April 2014
5. He also participated in the 2015 junior Wimbledon after he won HSBC Road to Wimbledon Boys' Singles Championship.
6. Won Doubles Title at Practennis National Series in April 2015 against Megh Patel & Ratan Konda.
International achievements:
1. Indian Team got qualified for the world Group of Junior Davis Cup where Siddhant played superb Innings to win the singles encounter.
2. Selected for Junior Davis Cup in Boys U-16 at Melbourne in April 2015 and reached Quarter Finals to play against Chinese Taipei.
